Nigerians at home and abroad should cease reprimanding former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his comments on the health situation of President Umaru Yar‘Adua, a group, the Obasanjo Solidarity Forum (OSF), has said.
The Coordinator of OSF, Alhaji Lekan Yusuff, made this known in a statement signed by him in Lagos on Friday, copy of which was made available to News Star.
While lauding Obasanjo for making public his position on the matter, the statement noted that the former president had patiently absorbed all negative gossips, criticisms and comments over the matter.
The group described Obasanjo’s stance on the matter as one that needed to be lauded and not condemned.
It added that the ex-president told Nigerians the truth about the matter and that those grumbling had no case.
The organisation stressed the importance and need for Nigerians to make their feelings on national matters known and that people should take such in good faith.
OSF urged the President to heed to the advice of Obasanjo and resign if his health would not allow him to carry on and also prayed for his quick recovery. 
It will be recalled that a number of people and groups have come hard on Obasanjo for saying last week that his successor should resign from office if he cannot cope because of his ailing health.
Obasanjo, who many see as imposing Yar’ Adua on the country, swore that God should punish him if he knew that Yar’ Adua would not be able to cope with the demands of office and still went ahead to make him the President.
